Critical Skill / Critical Unit Bonus:

The National Guard offers a $15,000.00 Bonus to prior active duty individuals who
serve in the National Guard for a period of 6 years.  

The National Guard offers a $7,500.00 Bonus to prior active duty individuals who
serve in the National Guard for a period of 3 years.  

Payment Schedule - 6 year Critical Skill / Critical UIC bonus:
  • The initial payment of 50% will be processed upon enlistment into the National
    Guard or if applicable, upon completion of MOS training.  
  • The second payment of 20% will be processed for payment on the third year
    anniversary of the date of enlistment.
  • The third and final payment of 30% will be processed for payment on the six
    year anniversary of the date of enlistment.

Payment Schedule - 3 year Critical Skill / Critical UIC bonus:
  • The initial payment of 50% will be processed upon enlistment into the National
    Guard or if applicable, upon completion of MOS training.  
  • The second payment of 20% will be processed for payment on the second
    year anniversary of the date of enlistment.
  • The third and final payment of 30% will be processed for payment on the third
    year anniversary of the date of enlistment.


MTOE Enlistment Bonus:

The National Guard offers a $15,000.00 Enlistment Bonus to prior service
individuals who enlist for a period of 6 years into a MTOE unit

No 3 year MTOE option is available

Payment Schedule - 6 year MTOE bonus:
  • The initial payment of 50% will be processed upon enlistment into the National
    Guard or if applicable, upon completion of MOS training.  
  • The second payment of 20% will be processed for payment on the second
    year anniversary of the date of enlistment.
  • The third and final payment of 30% will be processed for payment on the third
    year anniversary of the date of enlistment.

*  Prior service personnel must have received an honorable discharge upon
completion of ALL prior periods of service.  A general discharge under honorable
conditions or uncharacterized discharge does NOT qualify a soldier to receive the
Prior Service Enlistment Bonus.


Stabilization Tour:

Prior service individuals with less than a 6 month break in service may qualify for a
24 month non-deployment stabilization tour.


"Try One" Enlistment Option:

Many MOS qualified individuals with no remaining military service obligation (MSO)
can qualify for our "Try One" Enlistment Option.  No bonuses are available with this
enlistment option.
